HeroQuest Expansions FAQ
Do I need the original HeroQuest game to play the expansions?
Yes. All expansion packs require either the core HeroQuest Game System or HeroQuest First Light to play, as they utilize the board, dice, and core character cards from the main game.
Are the 2021+ Extraquest expansions compatible with the 1989 Milton Bradley game?
While the rules and quests are identical in spirit, the miniature grid scale in the modern edition (2021 onward) is slightly larger (31mm scale vs 28mm scale). However, the quest logic is 100% compatible if you mix and match!
